FAQs
We have several gender neutral toilets for changing, however most people get changed under the stretch tent. We have a gravelled car park which is free to use.
Yes – on your first visit (which we consider to be a trial) you can use a medical ID wristband “free of charge”. Thereafter you may purchase a band (please order one by clicking here) or if you do not intend to swim regularly at Watersedge you can hire a band when booking your swim.
No, you do not need to hire a medical ID wristband. Please book as a bandholder, you need to pass on your medical and emergency contact information to the lifeguards at check in. Please send a screenshot of your medical ID wristband order to activities@watersedge.club before you arrive.
Towel, sliders/flip flops, loose warm layers. If the water is below 15C then a woolly hat or silicone hat must be worn. All swimmers must use a tow float, these can be hired online when you book if you don’t have one.
We advise you bring lots of layers for afterward (loose clothing e.g tracksuit bottoms are easier to pop on), as well as 2 woolly hats; one for wearing swimming and one for afterwards in case it gets damp. Towel x 2 / change robe, socks and gloves. Obviously your swimsuit / trunks (and wetsuit if you are less confident although 90% go without). Please ensure you have eaten before the session and don’t drink alcohol the night before.
When you book a Sauna and Lake Immersion session you can go into the lake via the roped entry in between the sauna’s, you must only go as deep as you can comfortably stand in the lake. If you would like to book a swim then this will need to be booked as a separate session, this is very important to make sure that all swimmers are checked in with the lifeguards.
You need to book each session individually through the Book Now button, the reason for this is so that you can read and agree to the Term’s of Booking which are specific to each session.
It is important that each person taking part in the session makes the booking themselves so that they can read and agree to the terms of booking which contains important information for that session.
Children aged 8 years or over may swim. However, on their first visit all under 18-year-olds will be asked to demonstrate swimming competency and access to the lake is at the discretion of the lead land lifeguard. Under 18’s are only allowed to swim on the 350m loop. A wetsuit must be worn if the water temperature is below 21C. A brightly coloured swim hat must be worn. The parent or guardian must be lakeside where the swimmer is aged 8-15 years. Swim appointments for under 18-year-old swimmers are only available by request.
Children aged 16 years and over may paddle board providing they have their parent or guardian watching from the lakeside. A life jacket must be worn, and these are available for hire.
